The Brief
One of Adelaide’s leading arborists needed a company facelift. They were starting to ‘branch’ out in other areas and needed a fresh new look. They wanted to be seen as a modern progressive company but still retain the ‘green’ factor. Their most immediate requirements were a new brand / logo design as well as a simple website detailing their services.
Zynke Design were asked to quote on both jobs as a package and start work on the conceptuals right away. The name ‘Tree Environs’ was developed by the client in response to a growing market and an opportunity to do more specialist work in the city. The parent company ‘Arbortech’ didn’t really address this marketplace. The challenge was to come up with a solution that encapsulated the sense of trees co-existing
with the urban environment.
Work Outcomes
By developing a series of conceptuals that investigated colour choices and typography, we presented these to the client for feedback
and further discussion. After several minor stages of tweaking the nal logo was chosen. This logo embraced both a modern typeface and included a glyph that created the shape of a tree in the negative space. The cubes also making up the outline of a hi-rise building. The final result was a clean modern logo that met all the client’s needs. Using the subdued colours and rounded edges, we went forward to design the website.
The website needed large glossy images and easy to read and understand text. It also had to convey the brand clearly and give it the sense that it was part of a bigger enterprise. The client’s other requirement was that the site could be updated by themselves. We made sure that the structure of the site would allow this and that the text ‘zones’ did not interrupt the rest of the design dependant on the amount of content going in.
